Audrey I'm sorry if was a bit grumpy yesterday.
I think I've seen hints - if not answers - for 48, but....
L -iberal + revolutionary ( ie anagram) assembly (8 letters) then _ (4 letters)
Sorry again - you're probably Allan!
Oh dear! Not my morning! I've pretty well given you the answer, & I meant to give a hint!
Question Author
thanks kettledrum. had the first word but got line, room or shop for the second word. this is Audrey this morning.Hi.
Hope you won't mind my contributing, but what follows 'embassy'? Not too noticeable, but Kettledrum has indicated it as well.
Question Author
thanks muffet. contribute all you want but why that word and not one of the other two?
Does _ look more like a line, a shop or a room ?
Question Author
I was thinking 'discrete', closed shop?
Because of what immediately follows 'embassy'. K has it immediately following 'then' in his first reply to you. I stress 'immediately'. Hope this will clarify it.
Question Author
.......but now I see that it is the _ that is discret. thanks
I'm sorry Audrey....it had never occurred to me - until Muffet happily joined in - that you hadn't got it. I'd thought you were giving me line / shop/ room for my information, not as a plea for further help. Thanks Muffet for coming to the rescue!

I think discrete means lots of separate pieces ( that have to be assembled) - as opposed to discreet which _ is ! All very confusing
Question Author
thanks muffet and kettledrum. nearly there!
They've got them (the answer) in Bath - if this helps!
I'm not sure where everybody is on this one, so I won't mention the opus.
Now I've re-read how discrete is spelled, so I'm not sure.
