jessiedog the Griddler may look daunting but this week's one is pretty straightforward.
The numbers at the side are the number of squares to be filled in in that row or column, with a number of blank squares inbetween (put a dot in the middle of the square to denote a blank space).
e.g take the fourth row from the bottom 4.2.11.1.3. This means that 21 of these squares are to be filled in , in a row that has 30 spaces, which means that when you count from either side there must be some overlap. From the left, count 4 plus a space, then 2 plus a space, then count 11. This eleventh square has to be a black one. Count from the other side ; 3 plus a space, 1 plus a space ; then count 11-- at the sixth one that you already have filled in, you can now fill in the next 5 squares. Go through the whole grid like this e.g columns 11,24,25 and 26 , and gradually the whole grid can be logically deduced.and a picture will appear. Good luck !
