wow, so quick................I will have to get googling and anagraming.............thank you all so much. Can I help anyone on any of the NCH questions?

I'm not sure how helpful a clue you want, but that one is near Manchester.
For 2, The conventional cryptic for 'loud', a measurement that meets your requirement, and a word for a cleric, located near Havant.
Wow !! What a lot has happened since 11.29.
I've been pondering Logophile's posting, and realise it's in relation to No. 3. The clue itself isn't in any way cryptic. It just describes a particular alloy, that happens also to be the name of a town in Lincs. Logophile has give a very good cryptic version/
I know I haven't helped you on this one pebbles, been out on grandson duty, but would you mind giving a clue to my last two.?

French or Alpen, Anglican or Catholic? (tried all sorts of things with this but not getting anywhere)

If you need any help with the rest just ask. Thanks candled

Brass instrument (4) + Place of worship (6)
