Richard I of England (the Lionheart, or Cur de Leon) took part in the Third Crusade after receiving news of the fall of Jerusalem to Saladin, Sultan of Egypt and Syria, and illustrious twelfth century Kurdish Muslim general and warrior. At that time Muslims were known as Saracens.
Sounds about right Tpw - King Richard (the Lionheart) was at war with the Saracens. A head can also be a trophy as in trophy hunters, tigers heads, etc. Presumably Saracen's Head is a pub or building in Sibsey but you'd need to verify. Cheers, ja
