Just back. O-ice I'm sure Morning Land is right, and for 15a Chirimoya is an alternative spelling.
Sarumite, thank you for Roasted. I had it pencilled in but could not see the justification. Same with Event, O-ice. Which 13a are you stuck on? The Week is Fastened, Generalist is Calorimeter - not sure what OSS has to do with either!
sarumite I have to agree that what Milton said was Amarantin. But if he was meaning like the amaranth, I think it should have been Aramanthine or Amaranthan. No wonder he Lost Paradise.
I'm totally confused now re Milton who actually wrote, "Immortal amarant, a flower which once in Paradise" etc., etc.
Then the adv. as in Amaranthine wreath (Longfellow)
noun: and Crowned with Amaranth (also Longfellow)
I take it that Amarantin is in Chambers which we don't have as yet.
Mrs. O. on behalf of Mr. O the GK partner in this twosome.
Thank you both.
Chambers is coming. New edition not available just yet, but is on order.
Perhaps we'll "start to talk proper English like wot you do" once we get our hands on it. :-)
Please may I have some help with 23a - I have a whole lot of letters and no idea what to do with them !! I'm quite sure I could do it with very little assistance but don't ask me what it's called.
Sorry, I can't add anything more to the debate on 4d either, but apart from those two, I'm finished.
Must talk to you some time about going 'the other group' - have had difficuties signing in - doesn't like me, i think. cheers Steff
Hi (S) sorry, I meant 25a but that then raises a Q with 23a why Goss ??? - in a moment of inspired brilliance I'd put Moss as in Moss Bros, not so brill I guess !!!
