This is the first week of the reign of gen2 and I have absolutely no idea what he has in store. It's rather like waiting for an invasion from North of the Border! I have images of Braveheart and Rob Roy all rolled into one! How should I address him?
Monarch of the Glen?
Laird of the Links?

I hear the pibroch sounding, sounding
Deep over mountain and glen
While light-springing footsteps are trampling the heath
'Tis the march of the Cameron men!

We need one of sarumite's fiendish plans! Lie low in the shrubbery until 09.00am tomorrow morning ~ then all attack at once!

For anyone who thinks AB suddenly stands for the phrase "Absolutely Bonkers", it's the start of two new Links Games ~ MM and KM! The first to kick off is KM at about 7.30-ish tomorrow morning. It is organised by seekeerz all the way from Oz. The idea is to try to predict the link words of Herculis (as many hits as possible and as early as possible).

This is followed at 9.00 by the MM Game, where the links are selected by gen2 , who was last month's MM Champion (with a score for the month of May of SEVEN points)! Games close at appropriate times on Sunday and all entries are scored!

About 50 ABers enter each week and it's a lark! Newcomers are welcome!

I'm posting this a little earlier than usual before Kay goes for Unilateral Declaration of Independence!

"Good Luck" for tomorrow ...
... and Remember BANNOCKBURN!

Not quite up to a shrubbery party yet but couldn't resist waving. I'm hoping for great things with gen2 (I can dream) after my appalling showing for 3 out of 4 weeks with Burgess. Back later.
Weekends seem to be my busy time so I probably won't be joining the scrum in the Shrubbery tonight, though what you're all going to do without Pauline to lead you astray - or should that be 'keep you under control' - I don't know.

If you have a spare moment, Crofter, would it be a good idea to post a link to the rules and the scoring system for the benefit of any new ABers who don't know what we're wittering on about and might like to join in.

Seekeerz - I've been away quite a lot of the last fortnight and I have entirely forgotten to hand over the wooden spoon: it is on it's way to you now by cyber post as we speak!
Well, with our scottish ancestry - I too am hoping for great things Christiana. Well if you can dream so can I. :-)
my mother in law was from Glasgow, does that make me Scotish by marriage? Doubt it will be of any use at 9am tomorrow.
Right lets start onPaulines share of the wine

Oooh! Thanks Jan. My mother-in-law from Bannockburn
Now then, I am only a hop, skip and jump from the border as well as having a family tartan, which I shall wear with pride tomorrow. And of course the name....
All I need is a piece of lucky heather - I am feeling confident!
crofter is right all we need to do is lie low at 8.55 and gang up on him, he wont stand a chance!
A special message to Crofter firstly I have waited tonight and am sorry I was a bit previous last week, secondly from the words of the famous musical " Annie" tomorrow, tomorrow its MM tomorrow, it's only a day away !!!!!! Is that o.k. ?
Hi, evsajo glad you are here we need support as Pauline is awol! hope you are enjoying the other site
jan
Jan, at last I got on the other site but I'm still feeling my feet on there. It took me so long to get on but Mazie was so patient so with her help and other AB's including Sarumite and Gen2 I finally cracked it. I'm sure it will be a bit quieter in the shrubbery so hurry back Pauline. I hope she has had a lovely holiday. Has Sarumite put in an appearance yet or is he working on another cunning plan? Scotland seems to be the theme so perhaps he's disguising himself as a haggis!!!!!Only time will tell.
I think he is in here somewhere

I am sure he will not let the fact we are paulineless slip by without a chance to get even!
I keep forgetting I cannot post the picture on here as I can over there
do you think this is Sarunite in disguise?

Hey crofter, I hope I am allowed to throw some bait into the shrubbery in the hope of flushing some game.

Hush! I think I can hear a sing-song in progress around the campfire . . .

As I ran up to Scotland, upon a market day
I spied the biggest haggis, sir, that ever was fed on hay.

Chorus:
Hey ringle dangle, hey ringle day
It was the biggest haggis, sir, that ever was fed on hay.

The horns upon this haggis, sir, they reached as far as Troon
A lad ran up in April and didn't get down 'til June.

Chorus:

And now my song is over, you've just got time for drinks
Just sip your scotch and water and try to guess those links.
How about a bit of highland games practice - then we could all pole vault in or toss the caber and lay low any opposition. Perhaps we could persuade Sarumite to do a Bonnie Prince Charlie and send him 'over the sea to Skye'
Here I am ... thought a little heavy artillery might be needed to get past gen2 and into the front of the shrubbery queue !!

Hi Sarumite - what are you doing here - I thought you were leaping the rapids along the varly river - from the devil's glen into the devil's punchbowl and all that. From Ireland to Scotland in one fell swoop and with heavy artillery.
Hi Christiana .. I was chased out of County Wicklow by those pesky leprechauns ... thought I might stand more chance of success in the Highlands .. well at least it is Malt Whisky territory !! :O)
Sarumite nice to see you, i see you are in your kilt, so I ask the obvious question and leave it open for you to give the punch line. What is worn under your kilt ?
