Flies??

Reg (my other half!) has asked me to see if any of you clever lot can tell him why flies gather around the light in the centre of the room, even in the daytime?...he is puzzled ...and now so am I!!!

Wish I knew the answer pauline as you are so good at giving us the answers to our crosswords, but Im afraid I cannot give you one, perhaps in animals and nature section they could.

husband stalking around with a fly swatter.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
"Hunting Flies" He responded.
"Oh. ! Killing any?" She asked.
"Yep, 3 males, 2 Females," he replied.
Intrigued, she asked.
"How can you tell them apart?"
He responded,
"3 were on a beer can,
2 were on the phone.

Have you heard of the legendary elephants graveyard? Well the elephants couldn't make it to your light fitting so the flies decided to use it instead. You look inside any light fitting and you will find this is true. However, the elephants haven't given up yet ...

Have you noticed that a room without a central light they (the flies) still hover around the centre,so i guess it's a focal point lol

jane stojkiw, sorry but i beg to differ.

My living room has two sets of four halogen fittings equidistant from the back and front of the room ie the centre of the ceiling is clear.

Those damn flies fly in straight lines beneath both the fittings. They don't go anywhere near the centre of the room.

I would like to know how the flies can came in a door or window but can't go out again
