Am I correct in thinking that Edward 7th was the last British monarch to be born 1st in line to the Throne.

Edward VIIIth (David, prince of Wales, son of George V) was the last monarch born 1st in line although he abdicated before he was crowned. I think this is correct.

Many thanks Iolanthe for correcting my false impression.
No...when Edward VIII was born (1894) Queen Victoria was still on the throne so there were at least 2 people, his grandfather (Edward VII) & his father (George V) ahead of him. I think you're right that Edward VII was the last Brit monarch to be born as the heir apparent.
