I have just received a telephone call from Crofter asking me to let you know that he is having computer problems, so you will have to manage without him tonight. He does expect to be back to normal tomorrow (Well thats his story, you can make your own minds up) Have a good night and be up early tomorrow

Plenty there Pauline, help your self.
Have you got any nice pressies yet??
Is Laney still about?
Spoiled for choice Jools, lets have a really good one as there is only the three of us and a nice chunk of that lovely looking cheese. Cheers! Look forward to that Pauline, is it the first time you have met?
Yes, still here, I am still trying to finish the Generalist crossword.
We don't tend to do pressies. Sometimes get flowers, but we like our holidays so we keep our money for those. My daughter bought me some tops from Marks while she was here, as my wardrobe is a bit depleted at the moment. Nothing fits me, the charity shops have been doing well. :-)
Yes...and I think we are both quite nervous!!! Sarumite has been planning his trip for a while, his first break from caring for his mother 24/7 for several years! He said he was coming up north, so I suggested he pop in ..if he was near enough, and so he is!!!..am looking forward to meeting him.
I remember when my sister died, and I came on line to share it with you all...he mailed me a message once saying I was one of the best friends he'd never met!! How strange that on Wednesday we will meet!!
He seems really nice, but of course we don't tell him that...he gives us enough trouble!!!!
I haven't even started it the Generalist yet. I just haven't had time. I am hoping to do some of it over the weekend.
By the time I type there is another message on!!!!
Jools, it's because you have lost so much weight!!

The best pressies are 'unbought!'. I remember one year nobody in the family knew what to buy each other for Christmas ...so as we were having a 'charity do' at the time, we 'sold' each others services for a donation. Reg did some cupboard fixing and general DIY for a weekend, my brother did some gardening every Saturday for a month...etc etc ...it was brilliant!

Promises are a lovely present!
Anyway...what do you reckon gen2 is up to for tomorrow...let's see if we guess it!!!???
He is a kind thoughtful person Pauline, and how exciting for you to meet.
Jools thats a good idea to save the money for holidays. We decided years ago to not to send cards,we have one really nice one each that we put out each birthday and anniversary - our children think we are mad.
By the time I post this there is more messages I'll try and catch up!!
I haven't got a clue Pauline, I managed 3 points last week - sheer luck, probably back to nil again tomorrow
That's a really good idea Laney. Cards are so expensive...and never really what you want. I resent paying the money for them. I am making one at the moment...it's my brother and sister in laws silver Wedding next weekend. I have 'borrowed' a wedding picture and am putting it on the front of the card with a recent pic and putting my own verse inside. It's taking me ages!

Now I bet that gen2 is watching and thinking ....sad lot..I have them taped!! Come on gen....show yourself!!!
Nor me I don't think I have been able to prdict one of Gen2's links so far so I don't hold out much hope for this week.

For Christmas we try to make gifts for each other. We have so much fun doing them. Last year I made a game for my Son and his wife and one for My daughter and her hubby. We the played it all together over the msn on the webcam. It was great fun and it made it feel as if we were all there together
I have been trying to think what sporting venue there is tomorrow ,he may try something like that you never know with Gen.
Did you decide on a present for them?
I make all my cards too Pauline.
What a lovely idea Jools, my son bought me a webcam for my birthday and we often speak to the grandchildren its good fun, especially when you live so far apart.
Yes Laney...I took magseygees idea of a silver wedding rose, as my brother was a gardener, before he trained to be a teacher. The suppliers she recommended are delivering on wednesday as we are all away celebating with them next weekend, they are renweing their vows.
I also booked them into a hotel in Grassington for 2 nights in December as they have a Dickensian festival. we have been and I think they will love it.
They are brilliant - Idon't know how I would of coped if I didn't have one. It keeps us in touch and we can show each other things we have bought etc. When she had an accident a couple of years ago it was a god send being able to see her and that she was ok.
Have you Ladies noticed how refined the shrubbery is without the awful men? Such dignity? no scrambling and fighting...and in the morning it will be after you!...no! after you!!!....
Case proven I think!
