MM Links Solutions July [Week 1]

This first week of the reign of Queen Christiana has gone remarkably smoothly ~ in spite of gremlins at the launch. However, I happy to reveal the chosen Link words of Christiana (aka Jackie) and they are:

Far THING
Out HOUSE
All ABOARD
HALF Life

Quite a mixture from the inclusive "All Aboard" to the radioactive "Half Life"!
But who among you won the points?

Well, the Marmite Patrol struck gold yet again and all four link words were claimed within 10 minutes of the delayed start (due entirely to AB). The ring-leaders of this riotous bunch were noticeably awol and we look forward to their safe return with mixed feelings!

Some really inspired predictions appeared in the first postings, and Alibobs cried �ALL ABOARD� after only a minute�s play ~ (very) closely followed by freebi with exactly the same link. Each qualifies for a bonus Point to be among the first of the two Pointers.

Within 60 seconds, ex-champion rogerr returned from the OUT HOUSE to score another Two Points with JMR27 (a future champion?) in her 2-minute wake to pick up these Two Points as well! You may recall that rogerr (aka Barbara) was our first (and female) MM Champion who also obtained the highest score at the end of the second month. However, she gracefully declined to return so quickly and has set a precedent! (Read on)

Almost five minutes later, last month�s MM Champion gen2 entered the fray with both FAR THING (very devious) and HALF LIFE (very scientific) to score FOUR Points and making him �Hot Shot of the Week�. All this is academic since the earlier precedent protects gen2 from such an early return to the MM throne!

Scoring thereafter occurred as a gentle trickle!

This was an excellent open(ing) game for Christiana and I think, on balance, more �waving� than �drowning�!

Well done all those 'loyal subjects' who scored in what I admit was a round with endless possibilities. Next week, as Crofter says, I will present slightly more limited choices - I make no more promises than that!. Congratulations to Gen 2 for picking up on some of the very vague clues in the original posting, though I was a little surprised that no-body came up with 'all thumbs', heavily clued, I thought, when I spoke of fumbling on the keyboard. Was that a red herring or what!
I'm beginning to enjoy my new status, though I rather like the term QC someone referred to me as. Will have to be careful or I might get quite despotic!

New month, new setter, same old story, nil point. Maybe the KM game will bring me a change of luck, but I doubt it.

I'd like to say that at least I can join the free-fall club, but as I nearly always score zero I can't really FALL, can I?

Thanks Christiana and crofter. My efforts are no better than the East Anglian weather which accounted for my brief return to home and AB. Now I shall return to give it another chance - and to relieve you all from my quite unbeatable predictions for a little while longer.

A very well done to gen2 in particular. Afraid neither SHAZZA nor I could trouble the scorers this week - nil points! Must be the break away or something - they were very devious picks though Christiana!
