LITH = stone

but I can't equate 'EROE' to handmills

gen2 -thank you, we also wondered about Clitheroe, but it doesn't seem fully right does it.

bridgenut - thank you - I even looked for a place named copp! I think we need a more detailed road atlas for future quizzes.

Thanks bridgenut for the list of lancashire places - infact looking at it has given me the answer, as a 'quern' I've just looked up is a type of primitive hand mill!
