can any one explain why Milk Box has answer churn. I am sorry but i cannot see conection.

A churn is a container to transport milk from the dairy to milk supplier for bottling.

i still domt under stand it sound more like a milking machine than a churn. I must be very thick!!
A milk churn is usually called a 'milk kit' by farmers (and their daughters - me!). I remember being taken to the end of our farm lane along with the milk kits to catch the school bus. The milk kits were left on a raised slate slab called the milk stand to await daily collection by the Milk Marketing Board wagon.
now if youre reading that Rosemary what is your excuse!

glad got that sorted, but where i live a churn is a churn it is same as other things called by different names depending on what part of country you live in. thanks for all who have answered this question. Feel better now!
Yes,when I used to work on a farm in my school days and early teens it was a milk churn.

when i went with local farmer to deliver milk we had churns in a cart pull by a horse !! nice or what?
