Dear smurff,
Had a long stint in Royal Lincs Airforce and your clues caught my eye a little while ago, my offerings are:-
6. Barkston Heath (Hampstead?)
8. Bardney
10. Binbrook
21. Can't guess
78 agree Spitalgate
91. Scampton
Got a map (dtd 1953) with all Wartime A/f's if you want more.... best wishes b.
I've got Waltham (Waltham Forest without the forest) for no 6.

Last time the clue 'not south' led to the answer 'South' so I'm wondering if No 21 above is actually referring to where
John Smith was born. I haven't got the others.

Can you help with No 62 - you might leave the door open here.

Thanks.
Alconbury?
Alconbury is cambs/hunts
I take it there are no no's of letters given with the clues?
62. I offer:-Sturgate (N. of Linclon) or Dunholm lodge (ditto) or even Woodhall Spa.
Regret they are all a bit 'thin'!
10. ?? Holland Fen

juliefer you could be right about john smith he was born in willoughby england and there is a willoughby walks which was a decoy site during the war
Thanks for that smurff. You're right about me not knowing the saying; the equivalent here is 'were you born in a barn?'

I'd pencilled in Willoughby Walks but thanks for confirming that you think the same.

Thanks for trying to help as well, balmain.
