I wondered that, shaneystar2. Think I was trying to make it too complicated. Living in Cornwall it seemed to be the answer. But as you have confirmed will go for it.

According to one "Birdie" site Gill it has recently recolonised in Cornwall after an absence of many years....since about 2001 .
So I think it is probably the answer you want ....going by the way the clue is phrased .

thank you, shaneystar2. Have been to Paradise park and seen the choughs so as I said will go for it. Just did not seem as cryptic as most of the other clues. I always try to make things more complicated!
