Just finished the DTGK and found to my amazement I was a runner up this week ..and a couple of weeks ago a runner up in the cryptic. So there is hope folks ! Good luck .

I was quite taken aback .....I must have been sending the cryptic in for at least twenty years and the GK ever since they started it !

Well done, I've been trying for years - either with the answers in before first post (at our main Post Office) on Saturday or leaving it to last post before closing date (in the hope of my completed crossword being on the top of the post sack when they reach for a correct answer!) but to no avail! So it is good to read of someone who has actually made the list.

So at least we now know it is not fixed a la TV quiz shows!
