9d Innocents ?
Question Author
Thanks all so far. Looks like 9 down should be INSOLVENT which would mean I got 28 across wrong - Open secret (no copyright) . I've got OVERT but if INSOLVENT is correct we would have O _ E _ N
9d Innocents
Overt is right to fit with innocents
Question Author
Ok, all done. 9 down was INNOCENTS making OVERT correct. By the way - is this how I post replies thanking people?

Exactly so PETEREVO ... and thank you, so many people just don't bother!!

Nice one Sarumite and Grasscarp. Great site this. Stumbled across it a couple of weeks ago. Do you find the answers to the SE Skeleton baffling? Can never work some of them out.
Hi Peterevo - welcome aboard. Yes, SE Skeleton clues are often quite obscure but if you tackle it each week you will get into the mindset of the compiler. You can return to your thread as often as you like to verify your answers. ja

eg 28a Open secret (no copyright)
. . . . Covert . . . . overt . . . . Overt

Hi peterevo. I too have found this crossword baffling. I think different people are compiling it. Even when I see the answer, can't always work it out. Been doing this xword for years. Welcome to AB. It's fun & interesting. A wealth of knowledge worldwide.

Thanks for the welcomes guys. I've been doing the SE Skeleton for years and only ever completed it about four times. It's very challenging as it is trying to work out where the blanks are and how many letters are in each answer without puzzling as to exactly how the answers were arrived at. I honestly don't get some od them and I don't think I will if I continue to do the crossword for another 20 years.

Happy cruciverbaling guys! :-)
