Thanks - didn't think of that. The only thing is as its Take a Break magazine that would seem to be quite a 'deep' answer for what are normally fairly straightforward puzzles.
Cattle and Sheep are both plural, and there are many breeds of sheep, just as with cattle. However, as Barry rightly points out, a 'cattle' is not an animal.
Are you talking about 'Now for something different' in Issue 39? The odd word out is Kettle, the only one which isn't an animal. The K comes from Derek in clue 12 and the E from brave in clue 8
