Assuming I'm right with 8a (Personal ad placerclaims to have this golly with its stuffing switched) being gsoh, is the answer to 22/9d (Nothing would make Straw change position? F-off!) jack sh*t. It's not an expression I know, but there's Jack (Straw) and shift with the f missing.

Hi Bogtrotter - 8a and 22/9d are both correct. I have on occasion heard "J S" - check out the Urban Dictionary for these offbeat expressions:
