In that case Cas, I'm fairly certain it will be Noel Coward you are looking for - I know the term has been applied to the odd sportsman / poker player / Dr Who villain, but Noel's nickname was widely known and widely used (even by a member of the Royal Family - Lord Mountbatten's tribute to Coward on one of his landmark birthdays)
definately Noel Coward, whilst watching the last coronation at a party overlooking the route, Queen Salote of Tonga was in the procession in an open topped landau, she was a very large lady and her son sat next to her, a small man, someone said who is the little man with her Noel, the Master went over to the window, studied them both and remarked probably her lunch.
