teenageoap, I am waiting with bated breath, I need those as well.

J.
15 An anagram of earned
64 . What do they call the tax or duty that you pay on goods that are imported.
Have you got a Chambers Dictionary teenageoap ?
You really need one for this quiz as it gives you the definitions of lots of answers .
shaneystar2, I checked in a Chambers dictionary today and couldn't find some of the answers I already have. I have also tried Chambers online without success, what am I doing wrong?

Thing is Jules they are not all in Chambers !
There are a lot of anagrams so you you need a good anagram solver .
Here is one
http://www.wordfun.ca/
and this one is very useful using the reverse dictionary
http://www.onelook.com/

Bradfords and a good crossword compendium should help too.
I am sooo loathe to give the actual answers as the AB quiz police come down like a ton of bricks and then it just causes ill feeling .I will willingly give anyone a clue with this but they just make you feel uncomfortable all the time if you do help anyone .
I don't wish to appear mean and unhelpful but they get on my wick and I am likely to lose my rag if they keep on !

the only anag. I get for no.15 is endear but can't relate it to money matters. no I don't have chambers but will definately be asking santa for one
These are anagrams of earned
deaner
earned
endear
neared

One of these words is your answer .!
slang term for a shilling is a deaner
Shaney, I completely understand what you mean. I always find these Rainbow quizzes very cryptic and difficult but I do enjoy working on them. I have got 64 but am still strugglin gwith 15, so far have 4 anagrams for this word and am getting there. With the word shiling in the clue, to me, it should have bob somewhere in the answer.

J.
The words "But doctor" indicate an anagram..so it's an anagram of earned . which is "a shilling " !
Blimey Shaneystar - I almost got round to thinking that you were getting on the right/suitable wavelength until I found you giving all the possible anagrams. Don't some of these people realise that there are anagram sites that they can Google????????????
Question Author
did go on wordfun and got the same anags for earned but still could not get it. thanks shaneystar2. Does no. 64 start with ex?
julesy The Chambers dictionary that is on-line is only the Chambers 21st Century Dictionary - a cut-down version of the genuine Chambers Dictionary. If you use the chambers 'Word Wzards (here: http://www.chambersharrap.co.uk/chambers/wordg ames/word_wizards/wwizards.py/main ) the anagram solver and the crossword sover come up with answers that are in the main Chambers dictionary, but wich do not come up with a definition when you choose 'Dictionary'

shaneystar2, I know what you mean and I have every sympathy, but are we going to let these idiot busybodies tell us what we can and cannot do?

Who do they think they are, for goodness sake? The thought police?
Thought as much ..
Do you have built in radar scanners figi ?
We used to have a dog called Radar ..he could hone in on a Bonio at a hundred yards and that's just what you are like ..a dog with a bone !
Perhaps some people are not aware of the anagram solvers etc . and which are the best ones to use ..
I would not wish to be on your wavelength for all the tea in China.
Yes ..you are on the right track there teenageoap.
Question Author
now figi don't get stroppy. who are "THESE people"? I love shaneystar2.
Question Author
thanks shaneystar2. I think I have the answer to no.90 but don't know why. What has crooked ways to do with it( I have the name of a tennis player)?
Ways are paths and AC accountant ..anagram of those two gives you what I suspect is the correct answer !
gen2, please don't think I am being argumentative but I put in deaner in Chambers and all that came up was deanery.
Never mind, on to the next ones.
J.
julesy You are just confirming what I said.

If you put 'earned' into the anagram finder, one of the suggestions is 'deaner'. If you put this into the dictionary, it says the nearest match is 'deanery' because the on-line version of the dictionary is called the '21st century dictionary' and that is a cut-down version of the full 'Chambers Dictionary' that you can buy in the shops. Look it up in the paper version for a definitive definition.
