On a Standard Dartboard what is the LOWEST score you CANNOT score with a single dart?

How do you get 23???

Well done you two,I was at a quiz last night and NO one got it right.All gave the answer as 61.

One dart can score up to 20.....21 is 3x7.........22 is2x11

Forgive me if I am explaining things too simply - on a dartboard you can get the scores from 1-20 with one dart to those single segments; 21 you can get with triple 7; 22 you can get with double 11 - so the first score you cannot get with just one dart is 23.

Well yes. I was only joking but even so, I don't see how you could score say -1 on a standard dartboard with one dart. That is lower than 23.

Right. I am throwing a dart at a standard dartboard. It would be impossible to score -1 yes? As -1 is lower than 23, the answer shouldn't be 23.

Perhaps the question should say "the lowest positive number you cannot score"?
