curl
I went for furl - first part of furlough = leave

I cannot see any link for curl.
I think furl means to roll up, so that's what I've put.

Curl was my first thought, but then I couldn't find any reason for it, apart from the fact that it fits. Thanks for your thoughts. Not a very nice crossword today I thought.
