A new month, a new queen and (for one week only) a substitute referee. Crofter has had to go away for the weekend and has passed the shrubbery keys and his abacus to me once again. This time the honours fall upon Queen Jan to set the MM Link words but tomorrow it is I who will be posting the preamble and links on behalf of Her Majesty since even Queens have to go to work early some Saturdays.
These games both commence tomorrow morning and since it is the beginning of a new month, everyone is starting on an even playing field with love all points. (sorry - sport was King Grenmus's theme last month - Who knows what themes will be chosen by Queen Jan). Look out for both these games tomorrow morning with the KM game starting about 7.30 am on a thread launched by seekeerz and then at exactly 8.45am, Jan's preamble for the MM Links game will be posted, followed at 9:00am by the link words themselves.
Newcomers are always welcome!
The rest of this thread is for erudite musings on the relative merits of different malts and the bouquet of fine vintage wines (as if ! ). Behave yourselves and don't all rush out at once when the alarm goes in the morning. This is gen2 saying "Behave yourselves - but have fun"
yes lets all write free the Stockport 1
righjt must love you all and leave you catch you in th eam tomorrow on KM have fun with my links when gen2 puts them on

Thanks Ont-Ice. Pauline says can someone arrange a birthday cake as you probably know it's 3 in a row.
Me 3rd
Pauline 4th
Barbara 5th.
It is obviously a very good time for special children to be born, ones with ver good brain power!!! Oh I wish Pauline was here to help me out!!
Wotcher m'hearties - sorry to be late on parade. Been at me son's fireworks party at his school some leagues away. Can't stop long as got to take someone (German horse vet, Seekeerz!) to Stansted (2+1/2 hours each way from here) leaving at 4.00 ack emma so will be even tardier on parade for KM links demain. Now have any of you charitable laydees clubbed together to get Sarumite a replacement hammock for the one you barbecued last Fryday? What's more you should all contribute to a decent bit of Islay malt for him and the rest of us, oh so few, males brave enough to loiter within shrubbery? But dammit I can't join you in a snifter ce soir 'cos of the driving but hope the usual Bacchanalian and Saturnalian rituals are being performed incorrectly. Sarumite et al to report.
Slainte. Strix
Hello Strix, sorry you can't stay as we are trying to organise a birthday party but one of the main guests is unavoidably detained!! I don't know if there are enough here to play some party games like musical chairs or something, or is everyone too merry?
Well. we could try some party games, but I vote that , as we haven't lit the bonfire yet, we save that and the fireworks for next week. Meanwhile, the hog has been nicely roasted as is being carved up at this moment .... start queuing in about 10 minutes!
Sarumite are you REALLY that sozzled?!!
The hog roast looks tasty, Can I join the que kettledrum?
Kay we must have a toast to the birthday girls and hope Pauline joins us soon.
Sorry everyone but Nicky Stu and boys have just arrived from Devon so I have to go for a while to get them some supper. If it's not late will be back later, if not will see you bright and early for links. Love Kay
Hello everyone - Whats this I here about Pauline being detained, she was supposed to guard my wine from sarumite. I supposed that means there is none left. :-(
