If anyone has the Nov edition of Unison mag and knows the answers to these I'll be able to sleep at night! Thanks.....
Overlaps puzzle:

The answer is "dodo" - being defined by OLD BIRD and the letters can be seen from the first O in FOOD to the D in DISSECTED - all mixed up!

I'm also struggling on the Alpharhyme.

E: We hear old mate clued "bar" (7)
F: Pals and monsters round rear end of car (7)
I thought the "B" answer is Boozer and that the "F" was Friends but they dont fit together on the grid!
