Anyone doing this competition care to shed some light on the answers? Have managed to follow most of the leads around the southern lakes, but not sure about the fort, even with the letters I have.

i have similar probs this week, care to swap answers. So far i have John Wilkinson,Cartmel,Holker Hall,Dalton in Furness,

Agree on John Wilkinson, Cartmel, Holker Hall, then I thought the artist referred to was Romney who went to school in Dendron. I read somewhere that Branwell (Bronte) tutored at the Postlethwaite home in Broughton-in-Furness (not Dalton). Then I got cofused with the 10 miles NNE from Dendron - as Broughton is NNW of there. Let me know what you think.
Yes agree, also have adjoinig hamlet to dendron is Gleaston,14th c castle, maybe its 10 miles nnw and its a mistake. Leaving now ,back later
Its puzzling me too. TopCat2 - what letters do you have?
Hi TopCat2. I think I've solved it but one letter could be a C or a G. You should have ended up at Ravenglass station where you can look up the two names of the fort and bath house (hence the "Time to clean up").

Is Answerbank VERY slow today or is it my connection?

I've been trying to post for the last hour!

So far for the Latin answer I have: I C M O T N E U U
For the other I have: L A O A G N N N E T
but I haven't got last clue (the station)
It is very slow - I've been get blank pages.
Agree it's Ravenglass and was called Glannoventa though some sites call it Glannaventa but I can't find the new name from the other set of letters
Question Author
Many thanks - and yes, it is amazingly slow today. But at least it's working.

So if my top set of letters are correct (Now: I C M O T N E U U L) what does that make?
I have the 'old name' as GlannOventa (Now you gave me the last clue as Ravenglass)
We differ slightly - my letters are I C M O T N E U O L but cannot find the roman name for the bath house Wall's Castle!
SPOILER!

Don't look further down!!

answer is ITUNOCELUM
Nice one, Wideboy
