Stuck on 27a, Albert possibly wants political party put in order: L?N?O?T. The only thing I can find is Line-out, but I can't see why that would be right. Also a bit stuck on bottom l.h. corner, could someone help with 15d. to get me going again - Dubya, put in same predicament, attacks: 8 letters, first one A. Thanks as ever for any help.

You might have that L in 27 ac where it should be a C, if you put "oil spill" for 16 dn -- it's "oil slick".

But I can't figure out what "redwood", which I believe may be the answer to 13 ac, has to do with "unearthly right-wing politician".

Scheherezade, if you're still there - redwood is john Redwood, Tory politician.
BigMac - 11a is an anagram, the definer is at the end of the clue; 4d, remember that Brenda is the Eye's name for the Queen; 5d is in the clue; 6d is a musical term including a non-p.c. term for a foreigner; 7d, what is the female taking part in a marriage called?

Thanks BigMac! I did google "Redwood", before asking the question, but it didn't come up with a person.
After Bogtrotter's help I googled "Redwood MP", and found the "unearthly" video. Funny! I believe you mean NOT singing....

Aaaand -- how do you find private posts? I don't see any links to members or a mailbox or ??? It's not in the FAQs or the so-called tutorial. Is it part of the new Beta site? There was a link to download that when I joined but it's gone(!)
