Help, I'm totally stumped about the name of the final town.
The first six (I think) are East Kilbride, Irvine, Stevenage, Warrington, Runcorn and Cheshunt. There seem to be so many towns WNW of Cheshunt. Who's the industrial reformer? I also can't see the connection between all these towns and a novel.

Not Cheshunt but Hatfield?
Last one will be Newtown in Powys (Robert Owen) - hence the clue.

I've been trying to post for ages too.
I can now see where I went wrong with Robert Cecil. I came across Theobalds as his home while Googling rather than Hatfield House. Theobalds seems to be just outside Cheshunt , but there's no mention of any black and white marble floor in the building.
