I originally had these four up & four down, although I was misled by the mention of "five" at the end of the preamble. When I had spotted EMIR, I thought that it could a 5-3 split!

I shall revert back to my first thoughts and l must learn that sometimes it is better to "charge headfirst" into a solution.

I thought this was one of the easier EVs.

My only stumbling block was the same as devadolly but then I remembered an album by Steeleye Span and looked up its meaning.

I sent mine off this morning.

Does anyone know the best strategy for posting? Get in first? or just get it in at the last minute?

Last minute is probably a bit risky - as long as it arrives your entry has an equal chance of success.

I always try to post as soon as possible after completion. At least that way it allows for any delays in the post. It was a matter of pride to catch the Sunday collection with cryptic and G.K. but that is no longer possible. Unfortunately the closing date for those two and EV changed from Friday to Thursday about the same time that Sunday collections were abolished!!
As far as this one was concerned it was as enjoyable as always --- once I'd recovered from a stomach bug.
