why are some people so horrible when people ask questions. its up to you if you answers them why be horrible and nasty

i know what you mean, and of course we are all different and we are all ab'ers for our own reasons, sometimes 'some of us' might even post questions that are not too difficult to solve, but isn't it rather nice when someone solves it for us, and isn't it great when we solve somone elses, and who knows they may know the answer already, but hey - i think this answerbank is fabulous and i get many hours of enjoyment from it, posting, solving and reading other's solutions, so don't take it to heart and enjoy !

Pay them no attention. There are many more people willing to help than to hinder. After all it is a Q & A site.

Whilst echoing the sentiments above, I have found that there are some things that do cause anger and resentment.

One is to see one person effectively asking for half (or even all !!) the answers to a quiz that others have tried to solve for themselves.

Another is asking for the answers when a quiz/crossword has only just come out and there is a long time (say a month) before entries have to be submitted.

And one other thing that really annoys people on this site is not receiving thanks (the stars from "Rate this Answer" are usually sufficient) when they do help.

I speak only for myself, but hope this helps.

I also find it annoying when someone doesn't give the full clue to their puzzle.

eg. I am stuck on 1 across. What is the answer.

How can we help with something like that?!

Yes, that's the real bugbear. I try and put out of my mind the fact that it happens...

agree with all these - and what about when you get a 'clue' and no indication of number of letters - it is so easy to 'help to be helped' i always think
