Help please with the following question
Q62 This place has had a few name changes.Originally named for it's discoverer it was renamed in honour of the French royals,then for the meeting of the Marseilles revolutionaries and the National Guard in Paris,then in honour of Napoleon,then back to the Royal connection and finally back to what?

This has been driving me mad!!! Don't know if I'm clutching at straws or if you can find the National Guard/revolutionaries connection - however am pasting a bit about Mauritius. Capital, Port Louis, was once named Port Napoleon..... Hope this might be of help and I'm not sending you on a wild goose chase!

Mauritius, a small island country in the western Indian Ocean, was virtually unknown till 1598. This was when the Dutch landed and tried unsuccessfully to establish their settlements here. However, one change that they did make was to give this island a name - Wolmar. The Dutch abandoned Mauritius in 1710 and the French took over. They changed the name to Isle de France and established Port Louis as their naval base. By the Treaty of Paris in 1814, the name of the place was changed back to Mauritius.

Further to your suggestion I checked out Port Louis last evening and although that wasn't the place,it did lead me to the correct place which is Reunion
