hi ace bt - yes I see what you mean and I did hesitate before posting. According to The Oxford Dict. meditate; "to focus one's mind for a period of time for spiritual purposes or as a method of relaxation".Vegetate:"live or spend a period of time in a dull, inactive, unchallenging way". I'd still go with meditate but I could well be wrong...
