Alcohol as a drug

Following on from the post below i was watching a documentary the other night and a team of experts in the field ranked the 20 most dangerous drugs in the UK,

They placed alcohol in 5th place and stated that if it was just invented today it would be banned as a class A drug, so Bewley brothers obviously knows more than a team of eminent scientists and professionals with decades of experience in this field

If the thrust of your question is that we as a society should seek to embrace a greater degree of sobrierty, then I wholeheartedly agree.
But it's more likely to be a gange is good diatribe...

I can only go on personal experience... I know a fair few people who take a variety of drugs... and plenty more people who use alcohol...

the drink has caused so many more problems socially and health-wise...

I have to say on one hand the alchol seems to be a major problem in this country, especialy with the youngsters,

Hi mudflap
I know a person who battled with alcholism for years before dying. Where co-ordination was bad used to fall and hurt self terribly. On occasions did try to come off drink had same 'cold turkey' as that of a herion addict and had to take methodone/had fits etc etc. So I can see why it would be ranked so high. Very sad.
