Explanation please. I cannot find a dictionary that gives LURGI as an alternative to LURGY, This of course throws out 29a. Kilocalorie. Suggestions???

I don't have the xword so don't know the clue however in Chambers Dictionary it gives Lurgi as relating to a plant that enables coal gas to be made from low grade coal.

Sorry Shaneystar2. Should have put the clue:_ Facetious name for a disease popularised by The Goon Show. I was around in those days & it was always known as the 'Dreaded Lurgy'
