MM Links February [Week 4]
75 Answers
Good morning all from King Fordward.
Here we are again for the last time this month, how time flies. My gratitude once again to gen2 for doing the needful, he has been a tower of strength, and has helped me to have my fifteen minutes of fame (so they say). I have been arriving home mid Saturday afternoons and its nice to look at all the postings that are trying to guess ones mind!
So now the end has arrived and Spring is just round the corner. A young man's fancy turns to something interesting and mine turns to the Garden! What have I to do? Hmmm, prepare a plot for early potatoes and another for cabbage and a wee bit for lettuce, that's all the veg I put in. I will also need plants for my hanging baskets and tubs since I did away with my flower borders in favour of tubs which are easier to look after. Oh, and I must also get tomato plants. I shall get all these locally as I always think if you buy locally they should grow.
So there we have it; all that's required now are the WORDS.
It's been a pleasure doing this, thank you all for participating.

AB is not allowing the post of new threads so I am trying to post the results here:
Most of you probably know by now that crofter is returning to take the reins of this game once again. This will therefore be the last report that I shall make for a while.
King Fordward returned to the present this week and based his links around one of his passions - gardening. Did you wonder where he was going to grow his tomatoes? Was he going to let the grass grow under his feet? Where did he buy his plants? and what did he hope to produce?
If that was your line of thinking, then you probably did well.
I can now reveal that the links he chose were:
GREEN HOUSE
GRASS CUTTING(S)
GARDEN CENTRE
PRIZE BLOOM(S)
See below to find out who is in the points.

Within 2 minutes of the start, three of the links fell to entrants 3, 4 & 5. evsajo picked up 2 points for PRIZE BLOOM. Only her 'much older brother' burgess was quick enough to pick up a bonus for the same link.
ulysses100 matched GARDEN CENTRE and burgess was again quick enough to pick up a bonus for this as well. Paulineward also got this bonus according to the two-minute rule.
bridgenut matched GRASS CUTTING(S) just ahead of AllyLally and Jools 0f JimJools all for 2 points.
The final link of GREEN HOUSE only lasted a further five minutes before succumbing to FoxLee (2 points).
The only other scorers of note were double-hitters patchett and Magyar.
This means that the award of
'*** HOTSHOT OF THE WEEK ***' goes to the 4 point scoring double hitter burgess3334
'*** CONGRATULATIONS ***'.
Last week we had freebi2 on 6 points, and with no entry this week, 6 it remains.
ladyalex gained a further point to put her on 6 as well.
evsajo and Jools (of JimJools) also added points to make 6 in total.
As you see, it is very crowded at the top and resolution of the inheritance will have to be decided by other means.

On 4 points are bridgenut, Magyar, paulineward, sarumite and ulysses100
In the past, ties have been resolved by application of three rules known as the 'Big Hitter', 'Original Thinker' and 'Uniqueness Factor'. In this instance, they do not elevate one of the four to become heir to the throne. Left with a dilemma, I had to make an executive decision (otherwise known as common sense) and award the crown to the player who matched twice as many of King Fordward's words as any of the others. Anyone who can see into fordward's mind enough to match SIX of his words, deserves the crown.
I therefore declare newcomer ladyalex winner of the MM Links game for February and so, '*** SOUND THE TRUMPETS ***', '*** CONGRATULATIONS ***' ladyalex you are Queen ladyalex for March.
So, "What happens now?", you ask. The setter and the scorer have to get in touch so that the scorer can explain procedures, offer guidance, and subdue panic. fordward will tell you that it is not at all difficult. As I said at the top, the job of scorer reverts to crofter as from now so please ladyalex, email me (gen2) at [email protected] and I will pass crofter's email to you and forward yours to him
Tough luck evsajo, freebi2 & Jools, that was an excellent attempt at the top spot and a pity that someone had to lose out. So close. Better luck next time.
crofter, - "You have control".
