have you got 27a ?
18d I think it's bearings
Question Author
Thanks very much to Tyrepill and JMR for your help - much appreciated. No I haven't worked our 27a and didn't post it as I originally had 23d as eye-worm, but think it is loa-worm. If I find 27a, I'll post it up.
Thanks to you both once again.
hi slipknot and thanks for your answer. I thought loa as well but was put off as I can't find it in Chambers which this compiler tends to use all the time.

Re 13a - did you go for bine or vine?
Question Author
I have 'vine' - must be honest and had to look up bine after you've posted it! Thought bine was a specific plant, but see it also refers to a type of tendril, so I really don't know as crossword compiler can be sneaky! Still looking for tidal bore but getting nowhere fast! .... and also 15d! Not finding it easy this week.
15d is stash
I agree, it's very tricky this week. I think the prize should be a week at a health farm - my head's aching!
Question Author
Thanks for stash. Was at Stobo health spa this week and I think I'm worse now!
Question Author
Assuming 'bearings' is correct, thus 27d is ?a?r. Found 'yair' - scots word meaning 'fishtrap on a tidal river'. The nearest I've got so far and if nothing else comes to light, I'll use it.
