I have received notification from Lotto Unlimited that I have won over 1/2 million - obviously a scam - How much would it have cost me if I had tried to claim this via the link included on the email and how do I stop them coming - I have also had two emails to say I have won the Irish Lotterry - neither email was specifically addressed to me. I have a firewall, what else do I need?

It would have cost you the contents of your bank account most likely. You could always add them to your junk mailers list if your email software allows this, otherwise just delete them.

Thanks for the confirmation of my own thoughts - I'd love to be able to put a stop to this because oneday, someone will be caught out.
One school of thought is to email them back with bogus details. That way the conmen have to search through many more details before they find genuine ones from the numptys that actually fill these things in genuinely.
By e-mailing back you are confirming that youyrs is address that receives mail. This makes it a valuable e-mail address so will get sold on to new lists so you will get even more spam.

Delete it so that no one is tempted by it in any way.
