I managed to finish the last two without any help but this one has me stumped. Answers to the following might get me going.
1ac His contract is doubled, as it were (8) ( 3rd letter poss d)
9ac A politician's turning after nonsense (8) (3rd letter poss n)
12ac A boy's the big noise in pantomime (7) (3rd letter poss o)
3d which provides all those 3rd letters is 'Village that has done well with the bacon ration' for which I have put Dunmow but I have not yet found anything to confirm it.
