Welcome to this first week in the reign of Lady Lysander, who will appear in person tomorrow! After an initial wave of apprehension, Lysander quickly relented and has taken on the task of setting the MM Links with great gusto. No-one has worked harder to get things right. It's a brand new game, so everybody starts off equally with everything to play for! The posting should open at 8.45am and the four words to be linked should be declared at 9.00am tomorrow, when MM Links kicks off in earnest.
Of course, it is also a brand new start for the international version of this same game is called KM Links and kicks off at the unearthly hour of about 06.30am! Keep your eyes open for seekeerz from Oz, who collates the entries and keeps score. Why not chance your arm at both Link Games?
I'm in a rush to get out, so I'll keep it brief. Tonight is Quiz Night at the Cricket Club and I'll be taking part as a punter, but I'll be reading your comments when I return. Look after yourselves and "Happy Linking"!
Speaking of cooking. Strix was supposed to give me the receipe for March Pane which I never heard of in my life before. Ditto Eton Mess which he did give me the recipe for. No wonder we never get any points on MM all those desserts wot we don't know about and wot youse one scoff all the time>
Where are the men tonight? Do you think they are having a secret meeting re tomorrow's winner and don't want to be distracted by us Ladyees or booze or any fink like that?
I think they've probably gone to a lap dancing club!!...
I do believe Sarumite has been working in his garden this week...so they could be up to all sorts!
Evening, all.
Re: last qestion - a winter vegetable and lentil soup.
No idea re the GN - but sometimes there is a jockey with my name... so I bet on him.
I have a cold bottle of beer waiting for me in the fridge; can you remind me, is it only items purchased in The Shrubbery may be comsumed on the premises? If not, I am willing to share... ... ...
The German name has largely ousted the original English name marchpane with the same apparent derivation: "March bread." Marzapane is documented earlier in Italian than in any other language, and the sense "bread" for pan is Romance.
It looks delicious, but I must go now and tend to my dumplings. If S comes in later tell him that he's getting an early start on the outdoor mushrooms.
Hi everyone. Sorry Pauline I was on the phone to Nicky (55mins!!) and would you believe she has been invited to her friends wedding up here and she wants me to babysit on the Sat night/Sun morning and its the 12/13th July!!!!!!!!
