MM Links Solutions April 2008 [Week 4]
27 Answers
This final week in the reign of Lady Lysander was a bit of an early false start, but it would appear that little damage was done to the early birds as the whole round proved to be tight on points! I can now reveal the chosen links were:
Carpet BAGGER(S)
SUPER Bowl
BLACK Jack
VILLAGE Green
Yet again a mixed bag of links, which proved evasive to most entrants.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.The first three to go went almost immediately with paulineward claiming CARPET BABBERS (sic) ~ clearly still under the affluence of incohol from the previous nights revelry. She was immediately followed by fordward with a more sedate VILLLAGE GREEN and Christiana with BLACK JACK. Each of these scored their TWO BONUS POINTS before the clock struck 09.00am. I was prepared to accept repeats of these three links right up to 09.03 (in view of the false start) but sadly no repeats were lodged until 09.06!
In fact, at 09.07 miss meg recorded a double hit with another CARPET BAGGER and the brand new SUPER BOWL to score THREE POINTS to qualify as the HOT SHOT of the WEEK. There was a steady trickle of points over the day, but special mention must be made of the Hewats who made their usual late entry and managed THREE hits between them. Well done indeed! Very impressive linking! On the other hand, our two front runners JMR27 & Jools were unable to extend their leads ~ but had they done enough?

The final April League Table shapes up as follows:
EIGHT POINTS: JMR27
SIX POINTS: fordward & Jools
FIVE POINTS: ChrisHewat
FOUR POINTS: AllyLally, beejay1124, burgess, Christiana, keyboardix, miss meg, patchett, paulineward, sarumite & slaney
I therefore announce (by a clear margin) the April MM Links Champion is JMR27 who has the honour of setting the May Links.
*** Drums roll and Pipers sound out ***
*** Crowds cheer and go mad ***
The departing monarch Lady Lysander has done a sterling job and has provided us with a lively month of exciting links! Many thanks to her!
In the meantime, any help to establish contact with JMR27 will be greatly appreciated.
This is crofter signing off for another week.
See you next week: Same time Same place
Until then: HAPPY LINKING!
:o)

we need a biog of JMR27 so we can get in training!
BUT, well done, Lysander - you certainly fooled me, throughout the month, with your link words but I am, however, tempted on my way down from St Andrews to divert into Northumbria and hunt you down and give you a good old-fashioned slab of Scottish tablet for having done so!!

Just logged on to discover I've won - my first thought was Yippee! My second thought was one of sheer panic! I'm a complete technophobe and am somewhat ashamed to admit that I've never even sent an e-mail. However I shall get my husband to give me an intensive training course and shall try my best...I don't want to worry you but it did take me several weeks to master the new washing machine... :o)
clue for Strix - your link words will be coming from Scotland (with a bit of luck!)

You're the new boss JMR27 well done, I am in awe!!! .... and after that creeping perhaps you'll feed me a few hints for the May competition??
Thanks Lady Lysander for the April links, and not forgetting miss meg, who's a bit of a hot shot apparently!!
Cheers crofter for your scores, and of course trying to keep us all in check!! (S)

hi crofter - I note that gen2 provided contact details when lady lysander won. With his permission, I could send an e-mail there for onward transmission to your goodself. The soonest I can send an e-mail will be tomorrow afternoon. I shall check back on this thread to see if this will be OK .

This is going to be three Scots in a row (that is as in sequence, not in a disagreement!) for MM links. The Caledonian domination continues.
Oh heck, it's going to be a wee doch-an-doris and black pudding and fried haggis before the MM links are released on Saturday morning.
My liver takes enough of a hammering on Friday nights with the dissolute ladies of the shrubbery without being led astray at breakfast time on a Saturday! :-))

Oh, fordward, don't depress me more!
I may be half Scots (as is my wife) but down here in the south of GB it is difficult to shrug off the Scottish presence. Brown as PM and Cameron as the pretender - he maybe an Old Etonian but Cameron is hardly an English name (of Lochiel, perhaps?).
Home rule for Wessex, say I !
