MM Links May [Week 4]
53 Answers
Good Morning to all you Linkers. This is Lady Judy (aka JMR27) with my final set of words to be linked. It's hard to believe that my short reign is at an end. Over the last few weeks I have gained the reputation for being keen on strong themes, but partial to quirky links. I am what I am!
Quite a few of you are well placed to take the May crown and earn the right to set the links throughout the month of June. Good Luck!

This will probably be our last visit there for a while as it's a popular tourist destination during the summer months, when it can get very busy. Known the world over as "the home of golf", the game has been played there, since at least 1457 when it was popular enough for King James II to ban it on the grounds that it interfered with archery practice!
We treated ourselves to lunch at the Old Course Hotel. The restaurant is on the top floor and overlooks the 17th fairway, known as the "Road Hole": reputedly the most difficult hole in the Open. I noticed from the blurb on the menu that the bar stocks 174 malts - one from every distillery in Scotland - which is fine, if you happen to like whisky. After lunch, we took a walk along the West Sands. It was here that the beach
scenes were filmed for "Chariots of Fire".
There you have it. One clue and three red herrings!

According to normal practice, for the everyday running of MM, I will follow the usual rule on word length as introduced by crofter. Each of my pre-selected link words contains at least four letters and at most eight letters. Stray outside this range and you will be wasting one of your attempts!
Each of the selected link words may go in front or behind my challenge word! The competition will officially close on Sunday Evening at 7.00pm, when crofter will declare my pre-selected words and then apply the same rules for awarding points that have been applied during all MM Link Games in the past. At this point, the May MM Champion will be announced.
My final set of four words to have their links predicted should appear below at 9.00am. Happy Linking and Good Luck to you all.

My daughter is about to spend four years at St Andrews University. Went to visit it with her four weeks ago, lovely place. Prices in pubs and restaurants makde this half-bred Scots/Cornish southerner jump for joy. On the way, stopped in Leven, price of a pint of Amstel lager 2.00, freshly made ham and cheese sandwich 1.30. Price here in Hampshire: Heineken 3.05 sandwich 2.95.
Apologies for not acknowledging my status as hot shot of the week last weekend, but I only discovered this honour within the last hour. Unfortunately I had a sad task to perform last Monday and give a eulogy at the funeral of my father who died at a hospice the other week as the result of a recurring lymphoma. Plus the stress of trying to sell my house. So the past few days have been spent in company trying to keep busy and raise the spirits ; which has worked.
