This will be the first week in the reign of The Dinky Duke and I am looking forward to learning more of the incoming Champion. As always, he has taken on the task of setting the links with all the enthusiasm that we have come to expect from our winners. There is usually much to fit in for preparation for the first launch, but this week it has been exceptionally easy! I will be looking out for your predictions when the MM Link Game should be launched by The Dinky Duke, who will set his four words to be linked tomorrow morning at 9.00am.
This week should also mark the return of seekeerz from Oz, who is the gatekeeper for the international version of this same game (called KM Links) and kicks off at the unearthly hour of about 06.30am! It was a tremendous thrill for me, crofter, to win last month's game and to score 4 hits out of 4. However, I think I shall revert to Plan B for the start a brand-new game.
Belated thanks to gen2 & sarumite for covering the absence of seekeerz. Although, we try to be present every single week ~ things do happen that make this impossible and it becomes vital that willing volunteers are ready to fill the gaps!
Talking of gaps, I shall be having a one-week break in Tenerife in the middle of the month and I have been polishing up my karaoke version of "Kingston Town". I also have already been in touch with gen2 to begin planning for substitutions. There's always something going on behind the scenes to keep the show on the road!
As for me, I am Krophta, Keeper of the Rule Book and Sacred Abacus.
gen2 - you can, when they are in season, buy durian in Gerrard Street in London.
My stepmother-in-law and my half-brother-in-law (complicated!) live in Kuching in Sarawak and adore durian. However my father-in-law makes them eat it outdoors! You will know why!
As to "kiwi" fruit, in my youth they were known as chinese goosegogs. They grew on the wall of my and our son's first school, and still do. When really ripe they make the most perfect grenades.
Hi Laney, have been back to hospital tonight and they put the dye in and it's much better. Carry on with ointment, if any probs. straight back to hospital. Still a bit painful but not as bad.
I cut the top of a kiwi fruit and eat it like a boiled egg and eat pomegranate with pin (well darning needle!!!)
Hi Pauline hope you are OK
Laney we have had English Strawberrys all week and on offer at 1.99
we do have star fruit and sharron fruit but no dorian fruit as yet, shall I put in a request for you Gen, to get you down to our neck of the woods??
Durian - smell like sick but, so my in-laws say, taste like paradise.
Now to music - I am taking a chance on this. It is from 1973, is sung by a friend and I was in Air Studios when it was recorded.
I love it - but may be on my own!
Kiwi-fruit (and pineapple) contains protein digesting enzymes hence they are good for marinading meat to tenderise it. Some people are more sensitive than others (my wife is).
I eat kiwi fruit like a boiled egg - cut the top off and eat with a teaspoon. Not yet worked out how to get the soldiers in though.
