Quizmail

Is anyone, other than me, fed up with the bickering that seems to be prevalent on these pages. People seem to be more interested in having snipes and throwing insults at each other than doing what the site was set up for. No-one is saying that deinite answer should be given but all of us can do with a little help at times and people's schedules sometimes necessitate having to finish early. I, myself have to go into hospital for a serious spinal operation soon and, as I don't want my national placement to be compromised, I may have to try to finish within ten days. Please let's try to get back to basics and stop the arguments!

I was unaware of the implications of quizmail and answered a question once, I got my head bit off! I now understand why people get a little bit tetchy about it, but see no reason why giving help with clues rather than answers should be a problem :o)

Best wishes to you Javert but you've just started the bickering again.
It's wrong to say we ALL need help at times. Most of the teams that I'm in contact with enjoy solving Quizmail without help.
If we go away or run out of time for whatever reason we don't enter that month. Most of the teams must fall into this category as it's the same screen names asking for help every month. When(IF) the 'has this been answered before' button functions again you will be able to check my point.
I don't know how other teams work but we all read the quiz through jotting down our first thoughts, then everyone takes a sheet to check books first and then lycos, google or yahoo. We confer in the last week.
If it's all too much no one has said that you must enter. Or you could form an email group like the one often mentioned by an ABer then you would be NOT upsetting those who object.
So no bickering here I believe but I expect there will be.

I do the quiz all on my own. Can't get to the library as I'm disabled and have limited use on the computer. I am in the NCSL and I occasionally need a pointer in the right direction. I have been doing this quiz from the very beginning and have never missed a month. I do not ask for any answers only a clue when I am really stuck (or having a blonde moment) and am willing to give help in return, I am very happy that you have a team and can confer on answers but some of us are on our own and sometimes need a small push in the right direction. Where is that any different to having a large number of people helping? I call it just a little arrogant!
