While visiting my son in Solihull at the weekend, I bought my Saturday Telegraph at Somerfield. All parts were present and correct. On Sunday I bought Mail on Sunday and Sunday Express. I did not open them until I was back in Newcastle and discovered that there were no supplements in either paper. So after paying Sunday paper prices I was denied my crosswords. I was not best pleased. All the supplements were in the Saturday Telegraph, why none on Sunday? Can anyone offer an explanation? I am still out of sorts and feel cheated.

This occasionally happens at my local Asda and the explanation is that the delivery van didnt leave any, as they come seperately and are inserted by store staff. I always check them now before I buy.
That has happened to me with the Daily Record,
there is no supplement - its just the centre page
has not been included, or has been removed.
I must admit DR were very apologitic, unlike the
shopkeeper whose attitude was SO WHAT, who
does the crossword anyway. I informed her it was
the only reason I buy the paper.
Good luck with your papers and crosswords next
week.
My village newsagent has the sunday supps in sealed polybags, presumably done at the suppliers.

Thanks folks, I think I'll ask my son to make some enquiries when he is next in the store. I suppose I should have checked and not taken it for granted that they would be there. Thanks for the good wishes.
I work for Sainsbury's and often when there is a free cd they are taken by customers who leave the supliments
also we somtimes do not get left the mags but we do tell customers
some are not bothered as they only want the paper anyway
I have started to check my papers as it os sooo annoying when you get home to find bit missing

You are so right Jan, it must be a nightmare for the poor shop assistants. I am still hoping there might be a Somerfield assistant around the solve the mystery!
