I've never heard of the word 'idoloclast' and it doesn't appear in the Concise Oxford Dictionary. 'Iconoclast' is, of course, included and it's definition matches perfectly.

Just because you have not heard of it, Chris, does not mean it does not exist - it does. As it happens iconoclast is right though.
Idoloclast and Iconoclast are both in several dictionaries
Chambers gives Idoloclast as a breaker of idols and others give it as (n.) A breaker of idols; an iconoclast.

surely ICONOCLAST is the word that would spring immediately to mind - but maybe that is the very reason for not using it - however i'm staying with ICONOCLAST
