23d. Struggle to catch river fish. (5) T*O*L
I'm struggling between T(R)OLL and T(R)OIL. Can someone please put me out of my misery, explaining WHY the answer is whatever it is?

Trolling is a method of fishing
Agree with tyrepill . . . . TROLL (to fish)

TOLL (struggle, 'to take its toll')
'catch', ie insert R(iver)

{'TROIL' is a non-runner, word not listed}
Must agree, but I think Struggle is a poor definition for Toll.

Thank you, one and all. 'TROIL' was created to encompass TOIL (Struggle) and river. Additionally, I too feel that TOLL is a poor synonym for Struggle. Because of that I am grateful to the three of you to help me put it to bed.
