I'm really struggling with this one and would welcome some help.
6ac Bed-book (4) - r - - . The last letter of this is the first letter of:
8d Begum, a river (8) - - r - s - - - . ( I'm not 100% certain about the r )
17ac Philadelphia would have been no place for him (4)
- a - - (The last letter of this will be the 7th letter of 8d)
And worst of all - 16ac Crooks in the ghetto? (9)
- e - s - a - p - I just cannot find any word to fit these letters.
