lazy people

By looking in books and on the internet I usually manage to find 100% of the answers to the MOS prize crossword and only rarely,as a last resort do I ask on here.
I think this is a good idea but i also think there are many lazy people who cannot be bothered to look up the answers for themselves. Does anybody agree with this or am I being too critical?

The minute I see 'Quizzes & puzzles in the recent post box I rush to it to see if I know the answer. None of us know everything and it's nice to interact, share and exchange ideas.
My beef is with kids and their assignments. They are bold enough to say they couldn't be bothered to do it themselves because they hate the subject or why would they need maths in their career, and they post their homework questions. When the question is not answered quickly enough, they then post it in different forums. The time and effort that's taken to do that, they could have Googled the question or topic and researched the answer. Nothing is wrong in asking a question. But some are just too lazy to help themselves.

You have stirred up a hornets nest. I look forward to my Sunday crosswords. I use my reference books first,, because I enjoy looking things up in books, then go to Google, but then resort to Answerbank. I am one of those old ladies that teeboy referred to, and I do appreciate the help available. I do not like educational snobs (not that I am calling you one) but be tolerant of your fellow man.
I use this site, I only post a question as a last resort, I am perfectly willing to help anyone out if I can. After all, no one has a monopoly on wisdom. But when you see the same question being posted five or six times, then you can only conclude that those people are soooo lazy they won't even bother to search through previous answers, which is arguably just as quick as posting the question in the first place!!!! Then you get the ones that just say 'mos 2 down thx' or whatever, expecting everything on a plate: what's wrong with a bit of netiquette?
