Well,it had to happen sooner or later. The latest winner is from abroad AGAIN!!!!!!! This MOS winner is from Minorca,Balearic Islands. I might get some stick for what I have just said,but I really don't begrudge the winner.I hope they enjoy the winnings! But,I've got a funny feeling that the next winner will be from....................Auckland,New Zealand perhaps,or..............Brisbane,Australia All I can say they must have EXpress postal service in the Balearic Islands!!!

I suppose there is always the possibility that the winner actually lives in Minorca and was over here visiting friends perhaps when they did the crossword before returning home??

I do live in Menorca, hot here by the way. Only disappointing thing about my win is the dreaded sterling euro exchange rate.

Presumably they pay for their copy the same as everyone else, so why shouldn't they have an equal chance to win? The MoS, in common with most other British newspapers, has an edition printed in Spain for the benefit of holidaymakers and expats.

Been doing this crossword and sending it in for approx 4 years, I only miss the weeks I am away on holiday! It has cost me a fortune in stamps and I've never had a sniff of a win. Maybe I should post it from abroad!! Anyone any idea how many entrants they get each week?

i have won the MOS Xword 4 times but find it hard to beleive that someone could buy the paper in Minorca (on a Monday) and have the answers in Thetford on the Frifday

I lived in Dubai for yonks, the Sunday papers [ minus the mags etc] never reached before Tues, it was practically impossible to get them back to UK by Thurs or Fri unless you had a relative going home on Wed and then they get jetlag and forget to post.
