btw, the news from the vet is encouraging, [though costly]
Daisy [rising 16 yr old colourpoint] had gone off her food last week and as her teeth have never been part of her better features [lousy breeding] I anticipated some dental work.

She's had just about every procedure known to man by this stage, rehydration, antibiotics and today xrays under anaesthetic and now they've found a lump at the back of her mouth - this looks like trouble so biopsy for that, leaving the teeth for now and waiting for pathology reports prob. early next week to see where we go from there !!

She'll probably be home tomorrow and it'll be wait and see, I guess..at 16 she's had a good innings so fingers crossed.

Thank you all for the enquiries and good wishes for Daisy, I'll pass them on when she gets home.

My usual nil score (I think), but not doing the crosswords for a week or two whilst Olympic coverage is available.

I hope Daisy is not in too much discomfort Steff, but as you say she is a good age ... so perhaps what must be must be. (S)

Very pleased to see the usual mad scramble at commencement of proceedings...usually bodes well for quite a lot of points all round and this weekend has been better that most.

My best ever - don't think I've ever got 6 points in a MONTH before. Congratulations patchett and christianna and the other winners.
Seekerz - hope your cat recovers soon. Our cat has recently had two operations but is now fit and well. Thing that really hurt was my bank balance !!!

Afraid it's all just for the fun of it merlinius and also the glory - you get to be kingpin for the month, then we do it all over again the following month - you could say we're a bit addicted [but I wouldn't] For more fun and games [and to meet some very nice people] join in the Friday night gathering in what is joking called the Shrubbery party - kicks off about 7.00pm your time [provided you're in the UK]
