13ac SCUD (scottish word for naked)
I assumed 8dn was INCITE, but other than meaning start, I don't understand the wordplay

Just on the wordplay of `incite': `request' is `invite', v = verse, c = `choriambs at first' so write v as c in `invite' and you get `incite'. Well done all, Katherine
